South Carolina Land Trust Network

Facilitating public outreach on land conservation.

Formed in 1998, the South Carolina Land Trust Network is an association of land conservation groups that have organized to establish a network of communication, coordinate land protection efforts, provide mutual support, facilitate public outreach and disseminate information on land conservation in South Carolina.

SCLTN members include: Aiken County Open Land Trust; Audubon Society of S.C.; Beaufort County Open Land Trust; Black Creek Land Trust; Chattooga Land Trust; Congaree Land Trust; Ducks Unlimited, Inc.; Edisto Island Open Land Trust; Katawba Valley Land Trust; Kiawah Island Natural Habitat Conservancy; Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust; Lowcountry Open Land Trust; Nation Ford Land Trust; Naturaland Trust; Pacolet Area Conservancy; Palmetto Conservation Foundation; Pee Dee Land Trust; Friends of the Reedy River Land Trust; S.C. Battleground Preservation Trust; Spartanburg Conservation Endowment; The Nature Conservancy of S.C.; Upper Savannah Land Trust; Upstate Forever; Waccamaw Community Foundation Land Trust; S.C. Department of Natural Resources (Heritage Trust Program); S.C. Department of Natural Resources (Land, Water and Conservation Division).

The Lowcountry Open Land Trust continues to actively participate in this group of 20 local and three national conservation organizations operating in the state. The Network has been an invaluable source of information and training, especially in light of the past years' sweeping changes in conservation tax benefits, funding sources, and the upcoming Land Trust Alliance accreditation. The LOLT plays a leadership role in this network.
