25 Years of Conservation

by Lisa Wilson Shealy last modified 12:12 PM, 20 May 2010

In 2010, LOLT celebrates its 25th anniversary, and has conserved over 81,000 acres of land in the Lowcountry and beyond. We've nearly doubled our acreage since we celebrated our 20th anniversary!

Over the past 25 years, the area of lands that Lowcountry Open Land Trust protects has expanded to locations farther from Charleston and the coast, reaching towards the northern edges of the coastal plain.  The maps and graphs below show how our protected acreage has grown since 1985, and how our protective reach has expanded.  To view the protected properties in more detail by each Focus Area, visit our Protected Properties page.
