20 Years of Conservation

by Lisa Wilson last modified 09:28 AM, 14 April 2006

In 2005, LOLT celebrated its 20th anniversary, and has conserved over 45,000 acres of land in the Lowcountry and beyond.

Over the past 20 years, the area of lands that Lowcountry Open Land Trust protects has begun to expand to locations farther from Charleston and the coast, reaching towards the northern edges of the coastal plain.  The maps and graphs below show how our protected acreage has grown since 1985, and how our protected areas have expanded.  To view the protected properties in more detail by each Focus Area, visit our Protected Properties page.
